Recovering from Chronic Migraines

Migraines and headaches can make our daily life miserable. When we are in constant and seemingly never-ending pain, we tend to distance ourselves from activities and obligations (such as work or school) to seek relief. Our bodies don’t feel normal and we may not enjoy our life while experiencing migraines. Surprisingly, 90% of people will experience headaches in their life; it’s critical to address and effectively manage migraines. Recently, a 59-year-old woman suffering from chronic migraines that began during her pregnancy and lasting for the last 15 years sought neurologically-based chiropractic care hoping for relief. She previously tried Relpax, reflexology, massages, and Tylenol – none of which helped! She decided to try chiropractic care to uncover the source of the pain and remove it rather than masking it with medication. She rated her pain at an average of 4/10 but said it could reach a 10/10, making it unbearable. She felt unable to work, socialize, and exercise; there was a decline in her overall quality of life due to the pain. With gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments to restore proper structure and function to the nervous system, her body was able to heal; she no longer suffered from migraines! She was so happy with her health that she continued maintenance chiropractic care to keep her health at an optimal level!

Our nervous system works hard around the clock to make sure that we can function. However, like all communication systems, it can sometimes experience blockages in communication. When our nervous system is unable to communicate with all of the corresponding systems in the body, our body is unable to perform necessary functions correctly; we may feel symptoms as a result! When the body has the chance to fully function, we rely less on medications to mask symptoms and rely more on the natural functions of our body!
